I wanna watch the broadway show WICKED soo badly?
But it’s sold out for the weekend thatcim going. I’m going to Gershwin theatre and I’m wondering do they ever sell last minute tickets or something. And r they good seats?
Most professional theaters do have some sort of last-minute ticket sale. Generally, it’s called “rush-seating”. All you need to do is call the box office and ask if they have a rush seating policy.
It’s definitely possible that there will be last minute seats sold on show days. Besides day-of cancellations, (it’s proper theater etiquette to call the theater and cancel your reservation if you cannot make a performance- so that the theater may re-sell your ticket,) artist comp tickets are almost never fully allocated for any one show.
Keep in mind that it’s a bit of an adrenaline-rush to buy tickets this way, and you may not always be successful. Furthermore, these are usually full-price tickets and not discounted in any way… so be ready to pay for some of the best seats in the house, if those are the only ones available (artist comp tickets are generally very good seats.)
In my personal experience, “Wicked” (which I’ve seen twice) is definitely worth trying to get a ticket for. It’s amazing, and that’s coming from an old, bitter theater technician.
