Wicked Broadway Tickets San Francisco

guys i need some help here . who is Bette Midler ?? is it worth to see her show?

ok so a friend of mine sent me a text message saying that he and his girlfriend would like to visit me in the summer( like at the end of June) they want to see Billy Elliot or Wicked here at Broadway ( i live in Queens,NYC) and i said no problem im not going anywhere until the middle of July
we didnt see each other for like a year and we use to have a really close friendship
he lives in Las Vegas and asked me if i would like to come over and go to Caesars Palace and see Better Midler or Cher i saw Cher show and it was PHENOMENAL for a 60 something year old woman she still has it
but i have no idea who Bette Midler is and if its even worth spending like 200-300$ for a ticket to see her show
the tickets are available for June and August so im thinking about August as i will be going to San Francisco so i would stay at his house for few days and then catch a plane and go to San Fran and spent there few days and go back to NYC
