I’m so angry! My husband said I can have anything I wanted?

for my birthday but now he’s backing out! I told him I wanted tickets to a broadway play which of course means tickets to NY plus a romantic candlelit dinner there. And he told me no! he said he doesn’t have the money to do it since he wants to save to get us a house I know that’s a little more important but we can always get that money back! My birthday only comes once a year and he promised me I can have whatever I wanted! he got all mad saying I’m spoiled and crap! But if I’m spoiled it’s his fault! I don’t think I’m wrong at all, I mean if someone says anything that’s what they should mean. Am i right?

I am shocked by all the people saying you’re spoiled. Maybe you are. Whether or not you are spoiled is, however, in my opinion, irrelevant. Besides, are we to assume that when he made you this promise he didn’t know you were spoiled? LOL!

What IS relevant: a man should say what he means and mean what he says.

It would be gracious of you to release him from his word, but I agree with you that a man has an obligation to follow through on his promises.
