The Adams Family On Broadway

Cats Tickets – An Arizona Production

Many people, when they think of Andrew Lloyd Webber, immediately are reminded of The Phantom of the Opera, and with good reason; it is simply one of the most magnificent productions to be featured onstage. Webber though is not only responsible for Christine Daae and the deformed phantom; he is also the composer behind the productions of Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and Cats. The latter musical introduced the now famous ballad, “Memory,” now one of the more recognizable tunes that originated from the Broadway stage.

Cats was really the first stage production to pull off the “actors dressed as animals” theme, an idea that has been built upon over the years with shows like The Lion King and 101 Dalmatians. If you haven’t yet treated yourself to an evening of Cats at your local theater, be sure to pick up a pair of Cats tickets today from http://www.stubhub.com.

Recently Cats performed at the Arizona Broadway Theater, prompting hundreds of fans to flock to the venue for a chance to sing along to the musical score. Adam Berger, the musical director for the theater’s production, was quoted on yourwestvalley.com as saying, “It [Cats] has that certain sound to it that’s undeniable and very recognizable.” He continued, noting that, “Cats is one of those pieces of popular culture that you’re missing out on if you haven’t seen it.”

The production is running at the Arizona Broadway Theater through April 11 and features an extremely talented cast; Berger was quick to point out that the actors were highly skilled and definitely capable of handling the athletic dance score that Cats is well-known for.

Cats has been a staple in the theatrical world since it first opened in the West End in 1981, and the following year it held its first show on Broadway. Since then it has been the recipient of several awards, including a Tony Award for Best Musical and has played in several cities across the world. Cats is based on a few of poems from the book Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Elliot. The main theme of the story concerns a group of felines who meet up each year to decide which cat will be reborn. The cat who is in charge of the final decision is called Old Deuteronomy.

The production is noted for its choreography, consisting of elaborate dance moves and requiring the performers to have incredible athletic skills. Comprised of two acts, the show features “Memory” as well as other musical numbers including “The Rum Tum Tugger,” “The Song of the Jellicles” and “The Journey to the Heaviside Layer.”

Cats is one of Broadway’s longest-running shows, and it routinely attracts theater patrons from around the globe. If you are interested in a night of arts and culture, you’ll want to reserve your seat at an upcoming production of Cats. See when it is scheduled to play in a city near you and tell your friends and family members to get ready to sing along to “Memory.”

The hit Broadway musical by Peter Stone and Sherman Edwards became the basis for this 1972 film about America’s first congress and the nation’s declaration of independence from Britain. Most of the original cast members are aboard, including William Daniels as John Adams. The film is a little stodgy and moves stiffly from scene to scene–the adaptation to the screen is not a smooth success. But it…

CBS’s 1957 television production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella has the polished yet untampered sound of a live Broadway musical recording, despite the fact that the album was recorded in advance of the television broadcast. Julie Andrews stars as Cinderella, and her clean yet vulnerable voice perfectly suits her role as the picked-on dreamer in rags. The tracks play like a Julie Andr…
