Promises Promises On Broadway
Which Broadway musical should I see?
I’ve asked a question similar to this before. I’m taking a trip to New York sometime in either May or June. We are planning on seeing a Broadway show while we are there and I’ve narrowed it down o two possible choices. First off, Rock of Ages; the show looks very well done and looks as though it would be fun for my whole family. Second, the upcoming musical adaptation of Green Day’s American Idiot. I’m not a die hard fan of Green Day, but I enjoy listening to their music and this looks like it could be a promising show. Now I know these aren’t typical choices for theatre goers. My first choice was Next to Normal, but I’ve seen it on youtube. Has anyone seen American Idiot’s first run at the Berkley Rep and/or Rock of Ages on Broadway? I would really like to know which would be better to see.
I worked at the Off-Broadway theater where Rock of Ages had it’s run and it was a great show!
It was very funny, very well performed and all around great. Though I have to say that it’s definitely very adult oriented. It’s got a lot of very raunchy bits and a lot of “adult” language. So depending on the rest of your family this may affect the choice.
