Print Concert Tickets Online
Online concert tickets?
Is it possible to buy concert tickets online and print them off yourself? These tickets are sometimes called e-tickets. I know this is done in the USA but is it done in the UK?
I’m fed up of people on eBay etc. managing to get good tickets and selling them at high prices. So is there a way anyone could suggest to get good tickets at face value price as I’ve tried getting on Ticketmaster as soon as tickets are available and calling the venue.
I don’t understand what e-ticketing has to do with ticket touts. Can you explain? I will treat both queries separately for now.
E-tickets are often done for attractions like Thorpe Park or London Dungeons for example. They have a barcode which is scanned on entry. Concert venues do not use this. I don’t know why. I guess it is easier to fake an e-ticket than a proper one. The ticketing system will be chosen by the venue or occasionally the promoter but never the website. They are just the middle men.
If you don’t want to buy off touts then line up about 3 different ticket selling sites (i.e. ticketmaster, seetickets and ticketline) about 5 minutes before tickets go on sale then hit refresh repeatedly til you get through. Keep the phone to your ear too (like you said).I know that it’s getting increasingly hard to beat the touts but it’s always worth a try.
