Opera Manhattan
What are some good musical theatre colleges out east?
I like strict musical theatre (I’m not into opera, really). I would prefer just musical theatre and then off to Broadway straight from there! NYU is not the place for me; it seems too uptight for me. I heard AMDA is a scam. I was looking at Elon, Marymount Manhattan, Ithaca, Emerson, etc. Please help me out!

it’s not quite as far east as you were thinking, but the university of michigan has a very good and very reputable musical theatre program, as does western michigan.
don’t expect to head straight to broadway after school, though. Unfortunately, that’s just not how it works in the real world.
