New York City – The Big Apple is Big Fun

Statue of Liberty – Located on Liberty Island, Lady Liberty stands guard of the gateway to the land of freedom and democracy.
Ellis Island – Now managed by the same entity that watches over Liberty Island, Ellis Island was once the first bit of free ground that immigrants stepped on when they arrived in this country. Many visitors to the island are descendents of those early immigrants and come to the island to pay homage to the bravery of their ancestors.
Empire State Building – Every visitor to New York City should visit this towering example of amazing engineering; built in just 410 days. Visit one of the observation decks to view take in the entire expanse of the huge metropolis.

Metropolitan Museum of Art – This museum houses the largest collection of art in the world, with works of such artists as Van Gogh, Monet and Renoir. Catch the newest on-the-go exhibition what you are in town.
Rockefeller Center – This is just another of the often seen New York City landmarks. Home of the famous Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center is also the place where, in the winter, the lights of the giant Christmas tree reflect in the eyes of the skaters as they glide around the ice.
Ground Zero – September 11, 2001 created another landmark in New York City. Where the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center once stood a Memorial is being built to pay tribute to the almost 3000 victims who died on this terrible attack on America.
Central Park – With 840 acres of trees, grass, gardens, lakes and walking paths, this is as close as some New Yorkers will ever get to the great outdoors.
New York Broadway –You can’t visit New York City and not take in a Broadway show…or at least you shouldn’t. Broadway sets the standard for hit musicals and memorable productions.
New York Botanical Garden – There are over 240 acres of the flora from around the world, differently-themed gardens and lavish collections. Visit the living exhibits such as Daffodil Hill, the Lilac Collection the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden and the Bruckmann Crabapple Collection.

The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album $5.07 At the time of its release, this was the watershed for soundtracks, selling a kazillion copies. It documents Whitney Houston’s character in the Kevin Costner movie, which required Houston to play only herself (although one hopes she wouldn’t end up with someone as smarmy as Costner). The album is as much a testament to the production of Babyface who, through the mid-1990s, actually was the mainstr… |

Rock of Ages $8.80 This 1972 live album is a watershed recording for the Band. Recorded the previous New Year’s Eve, the two-disc concert recording presents the core quintet fortified by a five-man horn section overseen by New Orleans ace Allen Toussaint, and it is capped by a guest appearance by Bob Dylan. The brass and reed players incite the group to gut it out with more unrestrained fire than these road-hardened… |

The Great Race $4.73 Director Blake Edwards, fresh from the success of the first two Pink Panther movies, indulged his love of classic slapstick comedy with this long free-for-all, which throws in everything but Laurel and Hardy’s kitchen sink. The film reunites Some Like It Hot stars Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon, ably aided by a spunky Natalie Wood. The subject is a New-York-to-Paris auto race in the early years of th… |
