Movie Theater Ticket Prices

Skip The Movie Theater With Satellite TV

Going to watch movies at a movie theater has a certain sort of glamorous appeal. People can go there to see their favorite larger than life movie stars in larger than life roles with dazzling special effects to make it all as convincing as possible. It is also sometimes seen as a somewhat social event where people can go to share an activity with their friends on a Friday night. Unfortunately, the movie theaters are starting to have less and less appeal because of advances in home theater technology and thanks to such services as satellite TV.

Going to a movie theater has both upsides and downsides. The upsides are that they often have huge screens to view the movies on that simply cannot be matched by most home theater systems. Also, the pure amount of power that their sound systems have tend to be much higher than what you can reasonable have at home. After all, you have neighbors that might not appreciate your state of the art sound system as much as you. Aside from that, such a power sound system and such a large screen could be prohibitively expensive. Another advantage for movie theaters is that going there has become a sort of social event, where you, your friends and family can go to get away from the house for a couple of hours and have a good time.

The biggest downside is that movie tickets have skyrocketed as of late. It seems that they have gone up even faster than expected. Granted, they do tend to have the latest digital and high definition technologies though. But if you have to pay for your family as well as yourself, you can expect to pay upwards of $50 per movie in some cases, and just for one viewing. Food concessions are also expensive, with the potential of doubling the price of your family movie experience. Then there are all the common nuisances that you expect when you go to the movies that include the following: noisy neighbors, uncomfortable seats, viewing obstructions, bad viewing angles, cramped conditions. Basically, a movie experience is not one size fits all like movie theaters try to make it out to be.

That’s where satellite TV comes into play and it addresses all the shortcomings of movie theaters. You don’t have to worry about high ticket prices because the cost of satellite TV pales in comparison to the price of a movie theater experience even if you go just 3 times a month. With the right subscription, you can  save money. They also often have the latest movies and there’s a much wider selection of movies available from all genres. Best of all, you don’t have to worry about noisy neighbors, expensive concessions, and viewing obstructions because you control all of these factors in your home. You won’t even have to make any sacrifices with viewing technology as HD televisions are more affordable than ever, and a quality sound system can be installed in your home without breaking the bank too. In the end, you may be better off skipping the movie theaters and watching movies at home with satellite service.
