Las Vegas with Friends versus with Family?

I’m turning 21 next month along with my best friend. So my friends decided for both our 21 b-day’s we all go to vegas. If i go with friends i party hardy. Then my parents decided they want to take me to vegas along with the whole family. so that means a lot of sight seeing and no partying. I really want to go with friends because first time to vegas and 21 i know a lot of partying a lot of girls a lot of drinking and sex and strip clubs and night clubs and you name it. But with family that won’t happen. More like shows at night and a LITTLE gambling and a LOT of sight seeing. I prefer with friends but my parents say they are already ordering for airline tickets. I really want to go with friends but don’t want to hurt my parents by saying no to them. How do i get out of this, how to fix this problem? how to go with friends without hurting my parents feelings?
some of you may say you can always go with friends later. But you only turn 21 once and celebrate b-day there once.

Your parents were once 21. They will understand if you want to go to Las Vegas with your friends. (Ignore the guy that said you are a bad person. It is sweet that you don’t want to hurt your parents feelings.)
Here are a few options I would recommend:
1) LIE
-here are a few,
a) say that you just talked to your friends and that they are planning a few surprises for you…and that they pretty much have the trip planned. Say that you can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into your 21st birthday and that as much as your want your parents to go…you are worried they will feel left out. Then in case they say…”Oh don’t worry, we won’t be left out.” Tell them that now you are really stressed about juggling the ’surprise’ activities from your friends and spending quality time with your parents that you feel like you and your parents should do something else for your birthday. Tell them you want to go out to dinner with them and then when you do go to Vegas with your parents you want it to be just the three of you…without your friends “getting in the way.”
-This also works in case your parents don’t get the hint and still want to go. You can get your friends in on the act and say that you are doing your birthday activities that night.
b) If it is your friends birthday as well say that you feel like it is distracting from your friends birthday having your parents there. And that your friend says that he loves your parents but worries he/she will feel like a third wheel. And then say that you don’t want to do that to your friend on his/her birthday…blame it on your friend if he/she will let you. Say that your friends feel uncomfortable having your parents around.
c) f you parents don’t know your friends parents you can even say something to the effect that that your friend and his/her parents don’t get along and that your friend needs some time with you to sort through his/her problems. Say that you are worried that your friend will not be able to open up to you with them around. And also that it might hurt your friend to see the great relationship between you and your parents. Play up the fact that you want to spend time with just your friend in order to truly help this during this ‘difficult time.’
2) Just be honest…remind them that when they turned 21 they probably didn’t want their parents going out on the town with them. Be kind of playful to keep the mood light…jokingly say something to the effect of not wanting them to see you drink.
-Remind them that you are just going to hang out. Tell them that you will keep the drinking to a minimum (even if you won’t) and that you have a set limit for gambling (even if you don’t)…and that you are not going to get into any trouble (even if you are).

-If they still go just tough it up and say that you want to plan a few nights on the town with just your friends. They should understand that.
