Las Vegas Events Calendar

Where do they celebrate Mardi Gras in Las Vegas?

I cannot find any mention of any gatherings or parties in Vegas for Mardi Gras this year, Tuesday, February 20th. I even checked the Rio Casino and cannot find a calendar of events that lists any special events on that day. What do the locals do? Anything?

Rio celebrates “Carnival”

They have a pretty good time down on Fremont Street, it ain’t Bourbon Street but it’s fun..You can call them to see what they have scheduled for this year – 702-678-5600 –

The Fremont Street Experience is four blocks long, the over head light show has 12.5 million LCD modules. It’s an incredible show, if you haven’t seen it, it’s worth it just to see the light show. It’s like watching the Grand Canyon of big screen TV’s. They ususlly have at least one band stage and several street performers going.

Las Vegas doesn’t go out of it’s way to celebrate Mardi Gras, but, I’m pretty sure you will have a good time if you concentrate your time at the Orleans and Fremont Street.

The Orleans was voted by ” Trip Advisor” as the #2 “best value” hotel in the WORLD. This is an honor voted on by travelers like you and I… “The Orleans is kind of trashy too, just kind of low class” > you get some less than intelligent comments on YA too…
