Did people really think that it was called the Jay Leno Show all of these years?

I just did a search looking for something for the NEW Jay Leno show and I am shocked at the number of results that are coming up from 6 months all the way back 1-2 years. How did that many people not know that it is called the Tonight Show? Did that many people seriously think it was called the Jay Leno Show all of the these years? If so, it’s scary because this means that there are many that now think that NBC has a late night show called the Conan O’Brian show. It’s bad enough he was chosen to host the show- I do not think NBC would go as low to have his name on a late-night show that comes on that early.
yes I know it is called the Tonight Show. I clearly said this. What I said is that I have seen that many people have been calling it the Jay Leno show when posting questions. These results are not from one or two weeks ago (whenever the show premiered):

It’s always been that way, at least ever since I can remember. In my opinion, it may be partly due to the fact that some of the shows’ names are so closely related. There’s the Late Show, Late Night, Tonight Show, Late, Late Show, and so on. It’s just easier to clarify in a discussion if one goes by the host’s name.

I remember sitting up to watch Carson. Only nowadays, the name “Carson” would mean an entirely different show, even if it is shown “daily”.

You can also blame some of the hosts themselves. I am a huge Craig Ferguson fan, and he commonly refers to himself as the “Scottish Conan Guy”.
