God Of Carnage Broadway
In your opinon, what is the best CURRENT off broadway play in NYC.?
I am planning on going back on Thursday, and I was there last week and saw God of Carnage. I am looking to see a play that is under $40.00 and very good. I am 20 years of age and interested in pretty much anything that is very good for a cheap price. Hope someone can help me
I’m so sorry to say that this is not a really good time of year for off-Broadway.
There really is more of a “season” for off-broadway, and it’s September through May or June.
Lots of institutional theaters like The Public, CSC Rep, Playwrights Horizons, the Signature Theater, or Manhattan Theater Club go on hiatus for the summer leaving only the really commercial schlock.
I love the theater, and seeing that you liked God of Carnage (which I’m dying to see) I can tell you are a real theater person too. I wish I could offer you some better advice. You should really stand in line for tickets to Shakespeare in the Park (get there EARLY!) That’s the best I can suggest.
BTW, if you are around in the Fall, check out some of the institutional theaters. THAT’S where you’ll see real off-broadway!
