Discount Broadway Shows New York
How much would a trip to New York cost?
I’m planning on going to New York this summer for my senior trip with a friend of mine because I love theatre and want to see a few broadway shows! I also want to get there by train because I’m a train fanatic as well. My plan is to stay at a Hilton because my aunt could probably get an employee discount for me and see 5 broadway shows. I’m already saving now. I just need to know roughly how much! Thank You! ![]()

I live near Boston should’ve included that…
Well 5 Broadway shows cost a great deal of money, depending on the shows you seee. If you get them all ahead of time full price you’re looking at 100 a person each show. As for shows to see I would recommend Billy Elliot, Wicked, Next to Normal, In the Heights just to name a few (I’m a senior too so I bet we have similar tastes).
Food will easily cost anywhere from 25-100 per person depending on your budget per meal.
Shopping and any other touristy thing is just additional..
Hotels range from about 150 and up per night. So maybe with a discount you can get a room for 100 a night.
I’m not sure where you’re coming from so I can’t estimate the train ride.. but for an example.. I live 20 minutes outside of the city and it cost $15 roundtrip,
So you can do the math.. but for 2 people I would say minimum $1000.
I practially live in the city… EVERYTHING HERE IS EXPENSIVE. You wont find a water bottle under $2. But thats the beauty of NYC!
Tips on bway shows : plan on buying 2 or 3 tickets to shows that are more popular.. like Wicked or Billy Ellito ahead of time. And when you arrive in NY you can go the TKTS booth in Times Square and get discount tickets to almost every other show!
Good luck in your saving and I hope you get to NYC to experience this awesome city..
