London/9days-8nights.Any tips on cheap accommodation and interesting plays-musicals?

First time in London,pretty excited but also a bit frustrated allready!I’m worried about the accomodation,I would appreciate something cheap and safe..Do you think I must book now or just go there? I’m really intrested in theater,was the most important reason to choose London,any suggestions about plays and from where to buy tickets?they are cheaper or more expensive if you buy at the last moment? Any other advices are totally welcomed! sightseeing,transportation.. etc..
