Cheap Theater Tickets New York

Going to NYC for a theater trip. What else should i see there?

So yea, I’m going to New York in March for a theater trip with my local college. We arrive on a Tuesday and viewing a show that night and have a free morning and night that wednesday. On Thursday we have free time that morning and leave sometime friday afternoon. The teacher wants us to do stuff on our own during our free times and encourages us to research stuff to do. I feel very overwhelmed when looking up things to do in NYC. I’m staying in the theater district. I’m interested in seeing other shows as well, but not paying over $150 for tickets like i’m seeing online. Girl interested in theater, cheap yet fine eating, and cheap fun (nothing dirty please). Any ideas?
