Woul do as much research as possible online.
Lots of NYC sites that have information on entertainment , touring, maps, shopping & dining; some offer coupons.
There some free or inexpensive things to see & do.
Can’t help w/ shopping but would keep an eye on rate of exchange & customs fees.
Ask “locals” of your age where they shop for bargains.
Can sometimes get tickets to “sold out” broadway shows simply by walking up to the ticket booth & asking what’s available esp for weekday matinees.
You may be offered “split seats ” would take them even if you cannot all sit together in the same row.
Some good “off broadway shows also.
Cost for seats ?…more than I can afford these days.
As mentioned would avoid the “chain restaurants” wont get sick but it aint real NY food.
Always recommend NY “street” food ( dirty water hot dogs, big hot NY soft pretzels) & the smaller side street restaurants, “delis” & cafe’s.
If you do not have proof of age (if asked ..wink) you will not be served if under 21.
November can be colder than you migh be used to : would bring sweaters (cardigans?) windbreakers & walking shoes.
NY is much cleaner , friendlier & safer than ever, but let common sense rule.
Have a great time.
Best regards
