Celine Dion Concert Las Vegas
What are some cheap/free ways to entertain yourself while visting Las Vegas?
I plan to gamble lightly since it is of course Vegas, but as much as I like Celine Dion music I don’t want to pay for one of those concerts. Any types of thrills that are free or practically free?
Well, first of all – Céline is no longer performing in Las Vegas as of last year – if she were, I would try to convince you to spend the money – it was more than worth it! 
I’ve been to Las Vegas five times, and although it can get expensive (because I saw Céline’s show ten times over those five years) there are plenty of ways to be entertained.
1. Bellagio – it starts at night, it’s amazing. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Just make sure you don’t stand where the wind is blowing – you might get wet!! (Free)
2. Volcano at the Mirage. I wasn’t that impressed, but it was neat to see once. (Free)
3. The Fremont Street Experience – it’s downtown Las Vegas. They have music videos, that play on this huge screen above the old strip. It was pretty neat to see at least once! (Free)
4. Treasure Island Pirate show – it was cool to see once, they all lip-synch though, but they may have changed it up since I saw it a couple years ago. (Free)
5. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum at the Venetian. It’s expensive if I remember, but there is usually a coupon you can find somewhere, and it’s a lot of fun to go through at least once! Bring your camera!
6. I don’t know how often you gamble, but I just turned 21 in ‘06, so I didn’t know that if you gamble (even at the penny slots) they’ll serve you free drinks – it’s just polite to tip. You probably know that, but just in case…
7. At the Flamingo they have a “zoo” area with flamingos, fish, turtles, penguins, etc. (Free)
8. At the Tropicana, they have a Titanic Exhibit, which I thought was incredible. It was kind of expensive, but again we found a coupon!
9. At the Venetian, you can ride a gondola – not free, but if you ride outside instead of inside, it’s cheaper. It was fun!
10. Just walking the strip — there are of course Elvis impersonators, at the Venetian they have moving statues, at Aladdin they have a rainstorm that occurs all day within the shopping area, at Caesars in the Forum Shops they have moving/talking statues, which is kind of cheesy, but it’s free! Bascially every hotel has some form of free entertainment, and it’s always changing and evolving.
There are of course, several coupon books all over. The popular ones are called “What’s On” and “24/7″. Ask the desk at your hotel for any deals, coupons, etc. Also, make sure you ask your hotel what they’re offering, a lot of the time they have shows, activities, etc. that they are affiliated with and can offer you discounts because you’re staying at their hotel.
There’s always something to do in Las Vegas, and it’s not always expensive, have a great time!
