Broadway Tickets For New York
I’m going to New York in August. How much money do I need to take?
The plane ticket has been purchased and I’m only paying $50.00 a night for a shared Hotel expense. I am a student and I plan to see about 4 Broadway shows at the rush-ticket price. I want to enjoy New York as much as I can without having to worry if I’m gonna run out of money. Any suggestions?
I will only be there for 5 days.
Since you’re student, I would recommend carry as much as you can budget. Just make sure you stick to it and don’t go crazy with the money.
If you’re considering take a guide tour of the city, I would suggest you don’t. That’s because its a bit expensive. Instead, purchase a 7-day unlimited ride MetroCard for $27 and take advantage of the city public transit system. Its the cheapest way to get around.
If you’re going to the museum go on a day that is free or low priced. For example, on you can enter MoMa for free on Friday nights from 4 to 8pm.
If you’re going to see the Statue of Liberty, take the Staten Island Ferry, which is free. The boat passes the Statue on its way to and from Staten Island. One of the boroughs of New York City.
Since you’re going during the summer, you’re in luck. Many out door events are free during the summer. Below are a few that I reported on my blog.

I hope this information is very helpful. If you have any questions or need travel directions while in town, just drop me a line by clicking on the avatar and e-mail icon in the profile. I’ll be glad to help.
Good luck
