Broadway Ticket Tkts
Has anyone used TKTS in Time Square to buy Broadway tickets?
How does it work? Do you just go there the day of the play and try to get a ticket for it? Do they usually have tickets to all shows? I’m trying to get tickets to Wicked for Sat night, what are my chances?
I agree with the person who answered above. TKTS on a Saturday for a very popular musical has very slim chances. However, if you go to broadway.com and scroll to the bottom of the page there is a link that says “Last Minute Tickets” – I would also check there.
Wicked does have a lottery for the front row seats for every performance. The details are as follows (taken from the Wicked website):
A day-of-performance lottery for $25
front-row seats will be held daily for WICKED
at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre
(222 W. 51st St.).
Each day, 2½ hours prior to show time
(11:30 AM for 2 PM matinees; 12:30 PM for
3 PM matinees; 4:30 PM for 7 PM performances; 5:30 PM for 8 PM performances), people who present themselves at the Gershwin Theatre box office will have their names placed in a hat. 30 minutes later, names will be drawn for 28 front-row seats at $25 each. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person, cash only. Photo-ID required.
Participants may enter their names ONE TIME ONLY PER PERFORMANCE; anyone who is discovered to have multiple entries will be disqualified and tickets will be revoked.
