Broadway Shows In New York City
New York City shopping, site seeing, broadway, etc.?
Hi,
I’m going to New York City this Thursday for the first time in my life, and I am very excited! I was just wondering if anyone knew any good shopping destinations, where I could find inexpensive, cute clothing…maybe even some knockoff designer things….where would I go in New York City? I’ve heard that New York City is awesome for scavenging such things. Also any cute boutiques that aren’t that expensive? As for broadway, I really wish to see a show. I’m debating whether to see Wicked, Legally Blonde, or Mamma Mia. Which one is the best, in your opinion? Lastly, any other exciting things to do in NYC? By the way, I’m going for three days. Thank you!
if youre looking to find knockoffs like bags and such go to chinatown, particularly canal street. you might even find people selling bags on street corners, but chinatown has much more than what they are selling to you. there really arent any inexpensive shopping destinations, and as for the botiques they dont have anything that stores like forever 21 dont have, (im pretty sure theres a huge forever 21 close to times square if youre into that store) but unless youre a millionaire and want to spend money on designers like chanel and fendi, there really isnt any reason to go shopping in the city. as for the plays if you can get tickets to see wicked, deffinitely its the best out of the three, but i highly doubt you will be able to get tickets that arent under 300 dollars if you can get tickets at all. i just saw mamma mia last week and it was really good so i would suggest seeing that over legally blonde but hairspray, xanadu, grease and chorus line are all amazing so dont just limit yourself to those three. really any broadway show is good. if you want to you can wait online at tkts in times square and get really cheap seats. i did that once with my parents about 5 or 6 years ago when i was younger and we got 40 dollar tickets to see 42nd street, which is not on broadway anymore. and i think we were sitting in the orchestra section. the thing with that is you dont really know what shows are available until you get to the counter and you have to wait online for a really long time, so i suggest you go as soon as it opens. um besides that you should take one of those buses around the city, i dont really know what theyre called because ive never had a reason to go sightseeing but i know a lot of tourists go on them. also i think theres a duck tour at the seaport you can go on. but yeah if you do the bus thing the tour guide should be able to give you some info about sightseeing and stuff. and ask around about good restaurants. john’s pizzeria has amazing pizza, theyre located across from the majestic theatere and carmines is a good family style restaurant. theres tons of stuff to do in new york city its impossible to name or even do it all so dont be surprised if you want to come back again!!! i hope you have an amazing trip, and if you have anymore questions just ask and ill be glad to answer.

Newsies $4.55 Arguably one of the oddest films to emerge from the modern Disney Entertainment empire, this scrappy 1992 live-action musical tells the tale of a turn-of-the-last-century labor uprising among New York City’s newsboys (or “Newsies”)–an especially ironic topic given the Mouse House’s own historical labor relations problems. It was also a valiant attempt to revive the glory days of the Hollywood mus… |

Sondheim: The Birthday Concert $8.74 Sondheim! The Birthday Concert is a historic tribute to the Broadway work of Stephen Sondheim that took place in New York’s Avery Fisher Hall in March 2010. That’s 25 years after a similar all-star concert, Follies in Concert, was held in the same venue, also with Paul Gemignani conducting the New York Philharmonic, and the song list and parade of stars seems intended to evoke those memories.
