Broadway Plays In New York City
Fun things to do in New York City?
My family is traveling to NYC in a few weeks and I’d appreciate any suggestions of what to do other than the obvious activities every tourist does (i.e. central park, see a broadway play, china town, etc…) What are some fun ‘out of the box’ things to do?
Hit up Fifth Avenue.

Hair $7.19 The Age of Aquarius is brought to life by the filmmaker who made Amadeus a household word. Milos Forman directed this version of James Rado, Gerome Ragni, and Galt MacDermot’s landmark musical in 1979 between his Oscar-winning films One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Amadeus. With mixed reviews (Gene Siskel named it that year’s best film) and lukewarm box-office grosses, the film all but disappea… |

Evita (1978 Original Broadway Cast) $19.97 Evita was Andrew Lloyd Webber’s last show with Tim Rice before he went on to projects with less interesting collaborators, so it’s no surprise that it remains his most consistently involving and rewarding work. Loosely based on the life of Eva Peron, the charismatic wife of post-World War II Argentine president Juan Peron, Rice’s compelling story of one woman’s rise from poverty to power is comple… |

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical (Original Broadway Cast Recording) $7.50 Way back in 1991, many of us saw the single-handed salvation and revival of the old-fashioned American-style Broadway musical comedy. True, it was in the form of a feature-length Disney cartoon, but Beauty and the Beast had it all: a wonderful, tuneful score (including a huge hit title-song), off-the-wall choreography, a great opposites-attract love story with an ultimately happy ending, comic sub… |
