Where are the best places to take children in new york?
we will be in New York for 4 days in May 2007 we are landing in Newark and that’s as far as we have got. We would like to do the river trip to see the statue of liberty. Our children are 7 and 9 could anyone give us tips on a hotel to stay, great things to show them/do with them, fun restraunts and any extras like booking tickets ahead to avoid a que.

American Girl is on Fifth Avenue and 49th Street. It’s at Rockefeller Center, very close to Saks.
Top of the Rock at 30 Rockefeller – Fifth Avenue and 50th Street – great observatory – costs less, shorter lines and better view than the Empire State Building;
If you are planning to have a meal or tea or see the show at American Girl, make your reservations well in advance. They get booked up. It’s the “in” spot for little girls’ (and their dolls) birthday parties – for the daughters of well-to-do people. Your daughter will probably remember this all her life. Have a great time.
