Rihanna w/ Akon canceled, and sparse US tour dates?
There was, apparently, a September 14th show for Rihanna and Akon in Los Angeles. Now I hear that its been canceled, and ticketmaster is refunding the tickets (but not the $3.60 processing fee).
What happened? Why was it canceled? The US has only had a few scattered concerts for radio and stuff, never a tour. And Rihanna and Akon are just as big here as anywhere else. Especially Rihanna: I do not understand the lack of a US tour announcement. Europe is a big market, but Canada?
I noticed the same seems to be true for Kanye West: he has sparse US tour dates. Is there just a desire to avoid the US right now? And what caused it? Why would artists try and avoid the US?
Common people, anyone got a clue here? Jeez man nothing?
I’m from canada and I know why the’re doing this!
Canada has regulated tv and radio, which means they cant listen or watch american programing. ( stupid if you ask me)
Like we hear american music but not all the time ( were aloud 40% american programing and the rest is canadian)
So concerts arn’t regulated, so thats why they come to canada because more people that arn’t exposed to american programing are more likely to go see it live.
Pretty smart marketing plan if you ask me
