I would like to dedicate my song “You're Near” to all families who have lost a loved one serving our country, the United States of America.

There's Never a Break

The first drama 5 Book-it show is finished. We were privileged to perform "School Days" three times; the main evening show (which went amazingly smoothly), fourth period during school, and first period. Starting monday, our class will start a second session with new directors, casts, and short stories... sadly, without Kelly (our acting coach) to help us along.
I've had multiple meetings with Chelsi, my producer, for the next two songs that I will be recording on the 19th (the same week as Dramafest).
Dramafest is going well. So is Wizard of Oz. As everything comes together, I get really excited... but not to mention, nervous.
Our school announced its Winter Production and Musical: A Murder is Announced and Cats. I auditioned for the Winter Production today during drama class. Callbacks will be on Wednesday, so we will see how I do. Wish me luck!

Surprisingly, we have discovered two videos including "You're Near" playing in the background. It's exciting, to have people discover/like my songs! I would appreciate it if anyone reading this plans to do something along those same lines, to at least tell me when they do so. Thank you very much. It might even be possible that I will record a video to at least one of my singles, which has always been something I've wanted to be a part of!

Rendez-vous.

If you've possibly been keeping up with the constant updating of the right-hand column, you may have also noticed that there hasn't been any updates like this one; a blog post, that is. There are multiple reasons/excuses for this:
1) Wizard of Oz rehearsals twice a week.
2) Peter Pan rehearsals on the weekends.
3) Dramafest rehearsals on random days throughout the week.
4) Homework.
5) I am going into the studio tomorrow to record "Deja Vu" (Which I'm going to see if we'll use "Rendez-vous" instead as to not upset Beyonce or anyone else who has a song entitled "Deja Vu"...then I'll only have to worry about the French famous people).

Rehearsals for four shows plus a Broadway Bound benefit performance, in the process of preparing to record three more songs within the next couple months, and trying to keep up with school is extremely difficult for me.

With that said, everyone should try and make a couple performances for any of the shows I am in. Look at the right-hand column for more information.

Teen Hopes Original Song Will Connect To Others With Lost Loved Ones
Using music as main outlet to deal with grief, her song’s message is easily relatable to all

After losing several loved ones in a short period of time, one teen wrote a song to help ease the pain and hopes it will comfort and touch the hearts of other teens going through situations like hers.

Sept. 1, 2008 (Seattle, WA)-- Sixteen year-old Amy Helmuth wrote lyrics to her first song entitled “You’re Near” after attending and singing for two of five memorial services for loved ones within a month and a half. With more than enough inspiration, Helmuth wanted to have an original song to sing at future memorial services to take place of the ever-popular “Amazing Grace” and of which would have the soul purpose of comforting the whole crowd attending the service to remind them the person of remembrance is—and will always be—near in spirit.

Many people have listened and downloaded Helmuth’s song from her weblog and have left comments including one anonymous one stating, “I too lost several family and friends in a period of about 8 months a few years back. It was a very difficult time. This song touched my heart and reminded me that they are all still near. THANK YOU!”

The founder of the Memorial Music Library website, Bonnie Cooper, stated: “songs by independent artists such as Amy are the real jewels of the Memorial Music Library because they give visitors beautiful and unique music to play at funerals.” Helmuth’s song was recently the featured song of Memorial Music Library’s website.

Although helping grievers cope with their pain through music was her main goal, Amy is also on her way towards writing and recording more songs with others themes.

Being new to the music-producing world, being thrown into the field is a brand new experience to Amy and her family, and they hope that with support of others, her fan base will grow and her songs will reach out and further touch lives.

Remembrance and New Memories.

As the anniversary of 9-11 comes to an end here in Seattle, I reflect. Along with everyone else, it's hard not to remember and acknowledge the fateful day seven years ago-- except, apparently, my school today... it shocked us all when a school-wide "moment of silence" never happened-- and how much it brought our country together. This past summer, I had the privilege of visiting my dream destination; New York City. Though a somewhat stressful vacation (we arrived back at home only to leave right away for the remoteness of our cabin; a vacation from our vacation, if you must), I was able to visit the most important sights of the city. Including the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, Times Square, the subways, Trinity Church, and, of course, "Ground Zero" and the Station 10 Firehouse. Even though it is just a construction sight now, it still effected all of my family in extremely emotional ways. Well, maybe not extremely (we didn't start crying or anything of that stature), but my sister was moved so much that she went to the hotel that night, watched you-tube videos and read as much information as possible. She made a huge informational leap from when she was in second grade and thought that it happened in Seattle. :)
I hope my song was able to reach people all around the world today, who were able to connect with the lyrics, and feel comforted.

Now, for all of the exciting news happening personally:
1) Yesterday, at approximately 6:18 p.m., "You're Near" was radio debuted on WARM 106.9! They were conducting a fundraiser for early detection of cancer. My dad put in the request to play my song, and they did! Unfortunately, they said that I was his sister, but that's a minor detail that we're trying to overlook.
2) After a not-so-exciting audition process last weekend, the cast list was posted for Peter Pan with Variety Plus! Theatre. And... *drum roll*... you are now reading the blog of the newest Tinkerbell! Basically, all of my friends think it's a perfect match just because I'm so short and tiny, but I know that those seemingly rude comments are filled with love and praise. Rehearsals start this sunday, and performances are on November 9 and 16.
3) After an almost flawless audition for Broadway Bound Children's Theatre... cast lists went up today. And... *drum roll*... you are now reading the blog of the newest Dorothy!

So, uhm, exciting? I'm not sure how I'm going to do all of this, but I WILL find a way.

Basically, I'm not going to have a social life.
Basically, also, I don't think life could be better (except for the whole "school" thing. that could tone itself down for me).

I want to thank everyone who left comments on my last blog; they are full of encouragement, and It's gratifying to know my song is reaching out and touching the hearts of people even across the world (Australia can be considered across the world.. right? I've never been good at geography). Anyways, huge shout outs to Heavenly White Doves' blog, which now features my song along with all of the big name artists like Carrie Underwood and Queen! Also, the Memorial Music Library, who's page is viewed by thousands of people each year, and will spread my song (literally) to hearts all over the world--and not just to our family friends in Australia :). But, speaking of Australia, Funeral Celebrants Association Australia has forwarded my website's link to all of its members and made plans to add a blurb about me into their next monthly newsletter!

Of course, none of this would be happening if it weren't for my daddy. He's really the main person I haven't thanked enough at all. He is always the most dedicated and supportive person trying to get my song out into the world and hopefully, eventually, will create enough interest so that we can start selling my song and pay off all of the recording studio expenses.
Speaking of expenses, it would be amazing if anyone else who supports me as much as my father would be willing to sponsor me to help pay for future costs of recording my next song, currently entitled "Deja Vu," and of which will be recorded in October. My producer wrote the music, and started the lyrics. I finished them. This time, it's not as personal as family members passing away, but it is about my own personal Superman living too far away, and so until I can see him again, all we can share are words (mainly the ones typed onto the computer screen--you know our generation; haha). My mom and I found it funny how my first song was originally entitled "You're Here" and this next song's title could be, "You're Gone"; wouldn't that just be a great thing to see on the back of a CD cover? As in, not so uplifting... so we decided against the name for the second song.

Maybe some of you are wondering what I'm up to now; well, apart from getting ready for school, I have two auditions coming up. One is for Broadway Bound on the 4th, where I will be giving all I've got to try and snag another lead in either The Wizard of Oz or Oliver. I will audition for both at the same time, and the director will cast me in whichever show he thinks suits best for me. Cross your fingers i'll be Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, because that's my main goal. If anyone has any song suggestions.. I'm all open to hearing them. The other audition I have is for Peter Pan for Variety Plus theatre. This will be the very first audition where I don't have to prepare anything, because it will be a group audition, involving two hours of reading from the script, learning a song and choreography, as well as some improv movement. Wish me good luck especially on the improv, because that is the category I am least confident in.
